BALLET COMPANY AT BERKELEY

The Ballet Company at Berkeley (BC@B) is UC Berkeley’s first ballet company, committed to excellence in ballet and the enrichment of the arts community on campus, as well as expanding the aesthetic horizons of both dancers and audiences. As a completely student-run company, it will strive to provide a professional environment in which dancers and choreographers can share the joys and innovations of the art of ballet with the UC Berkeley community.

Ballet Company at Berkeley holds auditions at the beginning of each semester for those interested in joining our performing company. In addition, our classes are also open to those in the UC Berkeley community who are not a part of our company. Our classes are held via zoom on Monday’s and Wednesday’s.

How the Team Works

Ballet Company at Berkeley is currently offering an entirely virtual semester, consisting of Zoom classes and video-projects! Zoom classes will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7 PM PDT, which will be available to take as drop-ins for anyone interested. Video-projects will be offered to performing members, with rehearsals being entirely remote, from 7-8pm after zoom classes.

At the beginning of each semester we have an open class/ info session that goes over the official plan for each semester. Dancers interested in auditioning for our performing company will be required to send in a video of themselves doing the audition combinations through an audition application form. For anyone seeking to audition, a recorded video of the audition combination can be found on an accessible drive, as well as our YouTube channel, for the duration of the audition period. We review the applications on a rolling basis. To anyone interested in becoming a drop-in member, we have an audition application form that all applicants (performing or drop-in) must fill out, or dancers can email us at ballet.berkeley@gmail.com to be put on our drop-in member listserve.

Ballet Company at Berkeley strives to create a community where dancers can enjoy their art form and create connections with one another.
